September marks the height of New England’s growing season—a beautiful intersection of late summer abundance and early fall crops. It’s the only time of year when pumpkins and tomatoes sit side by side at the farmers market. Early autumn produce like sweet cabbages, swiss chard and kohlrabi mingle with peak-season tomatoes and peppers. This is the best season for cooking vegetables. Chef Pri will celebrate this season by showcasing how to make the most of it—all the way down to the last tomato. She’ll demonstrate the following dishes: Kohlrabi salad with pickled Hungarian wax peppers, mushroom cigar börek with swiss chard tomato brown butter, and charred Napa cabbage with fennel ezme.
