SOFRA IS A TURKISH WORD THAT MEANS A PICNIC, A SPECIAL TABLE PREPARATION OF FOOD OR A SMALL SQUARE KILIM RUG for eating. 

Welcome to Sofra, a Middle Eastern bakery, cafe and retail store. We offer sweet, savory, and contemporary interpretations of the traditional cuisines of Turkey, Lebanon, and Greece. Try some Middle Eastern cold salads and spreads from the Meze Bar or choose a flatbread or hot entree such as savory lamb shawarma. Dive into a traditional Turkish breakfast; or grab a tender Persian-spiced donut. The cafe’s retail store offers a wide array of house-made preserves and prepared foods, as well as carefully-sourced pantry staples & signature spice blends.

Sofra Bakery is the second location created by the Oleana Restaurant Group, and was established in 2008 by Executive Chef Ana Sortun, together with business partner & Executive Pastry Chef, Maura Kilpatrick. While traveling in Turkey, still deciding on the name for the bakery, Ana and Maura would ask the locals what the word “Sofra” meant to them. They were amazed at how the word instantly brought a smile to people’s faces.

At Sofra, we try to capture the world’s finest ingredients in our dishes. We search high and low for outstanding food artisans with delicious, healthy, and interesting products, which we use in our dishes; and which we offer to you through our specialty in-store marketplace. We cultivate personal relationships with many of our food purveyors, and we consider them part of the Sofra family. We add to the mix our own Sofra items made in-house by our dedicated Pastry and Savory staff. We hope you will enhance your own culinary experience with these unique ingredients, and support the hard working artisans who artfully created them.
