Sofra welcomes special guests Alyssa and Teddy Applebaum of Elmendorf Baking Supplies for an evening dedicated to fresh-milled local flour. In addition to running their retail store, they have developed an in-house milling program that supports local farms and a bakery / café that highlights the exceptional quality of regional grains. Their work has fostered a thriving community of local bakers striving to incorporate more nutritious and flavorful wheat into their baked goods. Guests will have the chance to sample and watch them demonstrate some of their signature items, including a savory handpie with summer veggies, blueberry streusel muffin, and lemon thyme cornmeal scone—each made with flour freshly milled at their Cambridge shop.
