Tomato Glory

Tomato season is fleeting, and there's no better time to enjoy the incredible harvest from local farms. In this class, we'll celebrate summer's favorite ingredient with dishes that showcase tomatoes from fresh and bright to rich and savory. We'll taste several heirloom varieties side by side, discuss what makes each one unique, and share a few favorite ways to preserve the season's bounty. Chef Ana will also demonstrate some of her favorite tomato recipes: Seared plum tomatoes with kisir, the classic Turkish bulgur salad; tomato tart; Iskender kebob with tomato brown butter; and chicken musakhan with tahini sauce, corn, peppers, and tomatoes.
