Meze: Small Dishes, Big Flavors

Across the Middle East, meze is a favorite way to begin a meal. Like Spain’s tapas, it’s all about sharing a variety of small plates with family and friends, tasting a little of everything and lingering at the table a bit longer. It’s a way of eating that invites conversation, connection, and a slower pace.  Fresh herbs and layered spices are what give these small dishes their bold, bright flavors without feeling heavy. In this demonstration, Executive Chef Pri will share a selection of meze inspired by the Sofra menu, including whipped fava, spoon salad, warm white bean piyaz with red pepper tahini, and lamb and orzo wrapped in grape leaves with feta sauce.

All of our cooking classes are held in our Allston location and are demonstration-style. Our chefs will do the cooking and baking and you will get to do the eating and drinking—and we'll send you home with all of the recipes from class!
