Simit is our signature breakfast bread and a beloved street food in Turkey. It resembles a bagel but is thinner with a wider center. Making simit is a team effort at Sofra—we gather around the table to shape, twist & chat. This is our first hands-on class, and we’re thrilled to invite you into the kitchen! Join Chef Maura as she guides you through making simit from start to finish—mixing and shaping the dough, proofing, and baking it both traditionally shaped and in a delicious stuffed variation with feta, za’atar & almonds. We’ll provide snacks, beverages, and aprons and send you home with your simit—just bring your enthusiasm for baking. Please wear close-toed, anti-slip shoes to navigate the bakery safely!
