Simit is one of our signature breakfast breads and a beloved Turkish street food—similar to a bagel, but thinner with a larger hole. At Sofra, making simit is a team effort—we gather around the table to shape, twist, and chat. We’re excited to invite you into the kitchen to join Chef Maura as she guides you through the full process: mixing and shaping the dough, proofing, and baking both classic simit and a delicious stuffed version with goat cheese and asparagus. We’ll provide snacks and beverages, and you’ll head home with your freshly baked simit
Please note: This class takes place in Sofra’s working kitchen. Participants must wear non-skid, closed-toe shoes and long pants. Aprons and towels will be provided.

All of our cooking classes are held in our Allston location and are demonstration-style. Our chefs will do the cooking and baking and you will get to do the eating and drinking—and we'll send you home with all of the recipes from class!
