We have learned that the cuisine of the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East feels rich and full of flavor because of the artful use of spices and herbs. Meet our friend and spice blender, Lior Lev Sercarz, one of the country’s most sought-after spice experts.

We’ll discuss essential ingredients and the best tools for success in the kitchen and Lior will demonstrate recipes from his new book, Mastering Spice, including: yogurt challah with golden turmeric and nigella seeds; and chraime – seafood simmered in a spiced tomato sauce. Tastings will also include: olive oil deviled eggs; garlicky lentils; and chickpea flatbread.

Class includes a tasting of each recipe and wine pairings. Class runs from 6:30pm-9:00pm at Sofra Bakery & Café. Doors open for first-come first-serve seating at 6:15pm. See you then!
